BACKGROUND

Ed began his career in real estate in 1978 with a short stint in time-share sales prior to being hired by Vail Associates Real Estate, January 1, 1980. After only one year with V.A.R.E., with Ed's very successful early years in real estate sales and the background in school administration, he was asked to take the top position as Managing Broker for Vail Associates Real Estate. But, with Beaver Creek getting its start at this same time, Ed chose to go back to full time sales in late 1982 and has been in Beaver Creek and Bachelor Gulch Village since that time.

Ed's most notable real estate transactions are as the Sales Manager in 1994 for McCoy Peak Lodge in Beaver Creek where 29 of 37 condominiums were sold in the first 10 days on the market for a total of $34 million and then in December, 1999 as Sales Manager for the Penthouses above the Ritz Carlton in Bachelor Gulch Village all of the 22 Condominiums were sold in a drawing after having introduced the properties just 2 weeks earlier to the local real estate brokers for a total of $63.5 million. However, Ed's real success rests in his attention to the PEOPLE he is serving--not the price of the property being bought or sold. He takes pride in his focus on the needs of the people and thus assists many locals and newcomers in buying and selling.

EDUCATION

Ed holds a B.A. in Business from Ball State University and a Masters in Education Administration from Purdue University.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Ed is active in Trinity Church as a Current Leadership Team Member and is Trustee of the Crissa Lea Swinford Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of Crissa whose life was cut short at age 25 in 2001. The Angels in Action annual 5K fun run/walk is held annually to commemorate Crissa's life and as a fund raiser for the scholarships given annually to graduating Lady Huskies of BMHS.

PERSONAL

Ed is originally from Rising Sun, Indiana. Both of Ed's daughters were born in Colorado and are rare natives of the Vail Valley.
